Strigoi

The chosen Blood-Sons

Culture

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The common method of eating prey in the Strigoi Vampyre culture is to first hang the prey with cuts all over the body, allowing all of the blood to drip out until the carcass is dry. When the meat is drained, it is burned until charred black and hard. The Strigoi diet seems to require carbon as it does iron and the harder meat allows their canines to be filed down as they naturally grow at a faster rate like a rodents.   Strigoi Vampyres are commonly obsessed with hedonistic pleasure and will actively seek out new experiences to enhance the bleak life they are subjected to.

Common Myths and Legends

Strigoi Vampyres have genetic abilities and characteristics unique to other ethnicities.
  • Strigoi bloodlines can transform their bodies into a tiny bat, shrinking their bones and bodies down, compressing bones and moving vital organs, using excess hair and skin to develop fur and wings.

  • Strigoi Vampyres secrete a smell which gives them a special skill of attraction from the opposite sex which can transcend species. The smell has similar biological traits to that which a female human gives off around the time of their period that shows their fertility to male humans.

  • Strigoi Vampyres have a high chance of obtaining a slight mental affliction known only as the Chosen Blessing which gives the Vampyre momentary lapses in sanity where they gain a sadistic bloodlust for advanced beings, and if they get a hold of one will start flaying and ripping at their skin with more strength and ferocity the Vampyre would normally have.

Major organizations

The Strigoi ethnicity is the major Vampyre race in Lionmidden in Mylrondia. They hold no power except over outlaws and thieves hiding from the authorities, who they will usually accept with open arms. When threatened, the Strigoi may use these outlaws as defensive pawns, or when they have no members or time to hunt prey, they will instead eat upon a selected outlaw.   They do have a legitimate business which is an inconspicuous inn where they keep all of their patrons safe from danger.
