Silver and Mithril Masters

Overview

The current 'City Council' of Tartessos, are known as the Silver and Mithril Masters - they wear pins of silver and mithril to signify their positions. In effect the pin also signifies that they are 'free men' and not bound by the rules that govern others. A pin-holder is effectively a market controller in the city. 

Structure

The City Council is actually a consortium of Mine Owners. The positions gained on council come from their wealth and holdings of those mines. 

Culture

This is a business culture - one in which being able to turn a profit, purchase land and control supplies of workers or equipment is key in achieving and keeping ones place in the society.

Public Agenda

To keep the city prosperous and maintain the status quo. They work hard to keep the Prince happy, and therefore pay more than the normal amount of taxes to the Kingdom, they also supply extensive mithril based items to the local militia. 

Assets

Extensive asset control over alluvial mithril and silver mines. Complete ownership of most businesses in town and complete control over laws and militia. New comers are known to be monitored by extensive spy networks.
