Laplacian Absolute Planes of Motion

The science behind the technology of Compasses throughout Atlantis comes from this discovery by a Wayfinder Dwarf that allows for everyone to make their way accurately around the kingdoms if they are lucky enough to get a sample of the technology.

Inventor(s)

Lap-Lace Rockturner of the Clan Athol Parnas (The Dwarven Name for Parnassus) belonged to the Mountain Dwarves who arose in to form the third generation of Dwarven Clans in Atlantis. It is said that he was blessed by both Apollo and Hermes in his discovery of Laplacian Absolute Planes of Motion for the entire Solar System.

Access & Availability

Only Wayfinders are able to determine whether or not a Laplacian Compass is a true Dwarven version or not. Most compasses point to a magnetic form of North that is rumored to change based on the magic fields currently active within the Terraian spheres of influence. The resulting Laplacian Compasses are therefore very vauable.

Complexity

Dwarven artisans capable of making a Laplacian Compass are very rare and they will only offer their services to make a new one to those Wayfinders who have served them well on Proof Quests (Quests of Proof of Loyalty, Honesty and Effectiveness).

Discovery

The discovery of the Compass and it's ability to determine directions is said to be linked to a third Generation Dwarf and his experiments with Lodestones. The Dwarf called, Lap Lace Rockturner was a Wayfinder and is said to have located not only a means by which to determine directions underground - but also to make it absolutely true to the plane of motion for the ENTIRE SOLAR SYSTEM.
