Scope
The motivation behind building Terra
Terra is my creative outlet. It is a place for heroes, villains, scholars, and explorers. A million stories can be told within the lands and seas of Terra. The expansive history and landscape gives way for me to tell any story I want.
The goal of the project
Terra is a personal project of mine that I'm not sure where it will lead but I hope it is adventureful.
Terra's Unique Selling point
I love creating characters and small stories. This is the first time I've created a world as expansive as this one and I am excited to continue creating stories that fit into this universe.
Terra is a world with nine well-known kingdoms, each with its own unique culture, customs, and secrets, all with stories to share. There is fantasy and intrigue within the stories and relationships between the kingdoms.
Theme
Genre
Terra and it's stories fit into the fantasy and adventure genre. There is lower-level magic in the world, but there may be stronger, ancient magic brewing below the surface. The technological advances are similar to the real-world European Renaissance to the Enlightenment.
Reader Experience
The world is mystical to some, visitors and travelers. Though some locals are unfazed by their home's beauty, they are used to the majesty before them. For some, it takes an outside perspective to realize the wonder around them.
The audience should be curious about the past and how each kingdom has gotten to the place it is now. There is a great debate about the current standing of the old gods. The world is fantastical and mystifying. There are secrets behind every corner.
Reader Tone
The world is in the middle of bright and dark. There are kingdoms full of brightness, optimism, and appreciation. There are also places of sinister actions, plots, and devilish betrayals. The world has seen wars, disease, and famine before, but now, in the Era of the Great Now, the people are prosperous and are able to live collaboratively with nature and with one another ... for now.
Recurring Themes
Each life is precious and nature helps those who cherish the earth's gifts.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Those with excessive arrogance, selfish ambition, and foolishness will lead to their own demise.
Character Agency
This world is old and is large. Each person has an impact, whether it be large or small. Though, at the end of the day, the world still turns and the sun rises each morning. However, some, that are paying attention, may notice tensions rising.
