Sundered Covenant
During the Age of Woe, there rose a sorcerous order that called itself the Ascendant Covenant—a name lost to most, remembered now only as the Sundered Covenant.
They ruled over Imorea as masters of forbidden rites, practitioners of arcane science and abyssal bargains, who believed they could perfect the mortal form and rise beyond the bonds of flesh and death. From their great obsidian spire, now shattered, they forged abominations and warriors to serve their ends—most famously, the orcs, shaped by foul magic into living weapons. These beings were cursed with a hunger for blood and violence, bound to war as their sole purpose. Many believe the orcs still bear the stain of that ancient purpose - a people damned from their first breath.
The Covenant’s fall was swift and apocalyptic. Some say they opened a gate they could not close. Others claim they betrayed Law itself and were cast down by the wrath of heaven. All that remains are ruins, cursed bloodlines, and buried machines that hum with whispers no one dares decipher.
To speak of the Sundered Covenant is to tempt fate. To search for their knowledge is worse. Yet still, some delve into their remnants, believing that within their failure lies a path to power, or perhaps the truth.
