Stormwrack Sea
The Drowned Edge of the North
The Stormwrack Sea crashes against the northern coast of Othvarand, a wild and violent body of water known for its sudden gales, broken reefs, and the ruins of lost signal towers from the Imorean Age. Sailors call it “the sea that forgets” — for it devours ships and spits nothing back.
Few great ports line its shore, Crodeux perhaps being the only one due to the protective nature of the Stilltide Bay. Instead, scattered towns like Belisse, Larmes, and Rochelune cling to its edge, surviving off fishing, salvage, and bitter resilience. Storms can roll in with no warning, often dragging vessels ashore or pulling whole stretches of cliff into the waves.
Common Knowledge
- Travel by sea here is rare — only the most desperate or well-paid captains dare it.
- The weather turns fast, and charts are unreliable.
- Locals speak of strangely shaped fish that swim to the surface only upon moonless nights.
- The great wyrm Relmoth the Tempest resides in the deepest trenches of the sea, but has not been witnessed in decades, although the growing tumult of storms may herald its return.
The Stormwrack doesn't hate you. Tis far too primordial to have developed the nuances of hate. It just takes, with no care in the world for who or what you are.
