Rasharan
Rasharan is a hot, humid continent east of Myas'tara. The two are connected by the Rashtara Span, a long bridge of rock above the ocean.
Southern Rasharan is the birthplace of the halflings. The land is a rocky savannah, with many crags and cliffs, shallow grasslands, and widely-spread trees. Small settlements are spread around, mostly located near the Haratrasa Way, a large road running from the Rashtara Span through the Cradle of Spices and Rashari capital Tirsh Nalani, stopping at the edge of the Sandsea Of Juddarith , the desert covering northern Rasharan.
The Cradle of Spices is a large, fertile valley, towards the centre of Rasharan. While various spices can be found all throughout the savannah, the valley is the predominant source of spices in Temshai, and a major source of wealth for the Rasharan Mercantillium, making it a perfect location for the capital. The Haratrasa Way winds down into the valley, many miles across, and passes through Tirsh Nalani, built at the foot of the cliffs on the valley's northern end, with fortifications atop the heights. A broad tunnel carved through the rock allows for easy passage farther north along the road, though the Sandsea now lies less than a day's journey north, so travel north is rare.
Southern Rasharan has quarries for stone and marble; the white stone with black veins is prized all around Temshai. The largest quarry is the Pits of Nalash, a day's ride south of the Cradle of Spices. The quarry is notable for having an entrance to the Subtide Nexus leading to the city of Dhagakhoum.
While the merchant lords, leaders of the Rasharan Merchants' Guilds in Tirsh Nalani, claim rule over the entire content, their dominion ends in practicality where the desert starts. Northern Rasharan used to be populated by humans. In the year 732 BA, a lich, allied with genies from the Elemental Plane of Earth, tried to conquor Rasharan, destroying Qarathas, the human capital of Northern Rasharan and leaving the city and other human settlements in ruins, burying it in sand. The Sandsower War ended as the surviving humans fled southward, allied with the halflings, and destroyed the Sandsower. Northern Rasharan is now the domain of earth genies and other creatures, and only the bravest and strongest adventurers dare venture into the sandsea.
