The Planet of Teicna

Teicna is a planet roughly 1.25 times the size of Earth, split in half by an ancient god and held roughly together by similarly ancient magics. It is orbited by two moons in a system with a single yellow dwarf star at its center and at least five other planets at varying ranges around it. By most accounts, the current form of the world - with the split down the center - is roughly 1217 years old, with 3264 years of recorded history prior to the split and an indeterminate amount of time before that. However, legends say that the planet once had a different face, which was stripped away and discarded when its inhabitants displeased the old gods.

Geography

The Planet Teicna is a fairly temperate place, in general, with very few locations rising to any fantastical extremes in terms of temperature and weather. It is split entirely along the east/west equator, leaving the two halves of the planet floating a significant distance apart from one another in a way that causes some significant rain on the oceanic borders and has altered the magnetic field of the world, but otherwise has yet to manifest any particularly devastating effects on things.

As far as most of its residents are aware, most of the world's surface is ocean, with five major landmasses split between the two halves. However, this appears to be only about half to two-thirds of the planet's full surface, as a divine barrier of some sort prevents mortals from crossing over to a significant portion of the world, which remains a mystery even to some gods to this day.

Fauna & Flora

The living things on Teicna's surface run the gamut from mundane, simple creatures like dogs and horses and the like to more arcane creatures who have become attuned to the magical nature of the world, such as the land-swimming armlón of Mordrekain to the tiny, teleporting samakiafiri of Sur'dhanza.
