Vermillion Powder is a mineral with a red glow that is used to bind Athem. The natural resource can be farmed from blossoms in the Vermillion Clouds in the blooming season after the Wave. It is used for the production of several items for the extraction and storage of Athem.

1. Natural Occurence

Vermillion Powder is a natural product that can not be synthesized. It occurs in a seven-day-cycle when the Infinite Sands turn into the Vermillion Clouds. Every blossom in the clouds carries a very small amount (not more than 1 gram) of Vermillion Powder in the stamen, which gives them a red glow.

2. Extraction

The extraction of Vermillion Powder is only possible under onerous conditions. Besides the fact that the timeframe for the extraction is very short, no mortal could stand the heat in the Vermillion Clouds for more than one or two hours without cooling. Manufacturers of the resource pick the blossoms as a whole. The powder-containing microsporangia are washed out in a first step, before the water is vaporized and the remaining Vermillion Powder can be skimmed from the bowl.

Ancient Vermillion Products
Vermillion Powder is an important resource for spiritual Juru rituals. The material has always been worshiped in the Juru culture and there are many myths surrounding the mysterious blossoms in the Infinite Sands. It is used as a basic material for charmstones, talismans and figurines which are said to vest power and health in the holder. Some rituals incorporate the consumption or the inunction of the powder.

Their research shaped the modern understanding of the material and the power it attracts. Several vermillion-based items were introduced to the market, which have a great socio-economical impact in Teel.
