Bay of Dead Men

This bay was once a swamp called the Mere of Dead Men. Ancient heroes once fought a large battle against a black dragon within this swamp cleansing it of its taint. Since that time the Mere slowly transformed into a bay with the rising water levels that happened during the Lost Histories.
In more recent times large dredging projects were done to convert a sizable portion of the bay into the largest shipyard along the Sword Coast. It has a single settlement, Dreadthorn along its coast.
