Half-Elf

Few know of the true power of a well-timed statement but here we were, he sat between the Human and Half-Orc and before fists came to pass a single comment cut through the tension. In an instant the two of them couldn't help but laugh and move on. Never seen it before nor since but no less impressive.
- Welther Sam, Halfling Tavern Owner on Diplomacy
On occasion along the borders between Humans and Elves can a Half-Elf be born. Half-Elves find themselves belonging to neither world while possessing traits of both: the beauty and mannerisms of the Elves and the strength and curiosity of Humans. Half-Elves oftentimes find themselves venturing off on their own, away from their homelands in pursuit of a world to call their own.

Keen Diplomacy

Half-Elves have an almost uncanny potential for conversation, a result of their often pleasant but not ethereal appearance and upbringing between two severely disjointed worlds. They might sooner end a conflict with words than the bow or blade and make great diplomats to the settlements they find themselves in, a profession they often take due to their proclivity for travel. Despite their talent for communication however, Half-Elves often only enjoy the company of Half-Elves and even Half-Orcs as they are the few who can truly understand what it is like to live between two worlds. It is not unusual for a Half-Elf to live on the fringes of society or completely on their own, rarely interacting with the others where they live.

Best of Both

Half-Elves are keen speakers and clever companions. Dignified but not pretentious, relatable but not boorish, a Half-Elf companion can stop conflict with a turn of phrase, and act as the voice between the group and the world around them. You will never be without good conversation and a strong empathetic companion with a Half-Elf.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Half-Elves are vary wildly depending on their parents. While their skin tones are more earthy than their Elvish ancestors, they often retain their vibrantly colored eyes. The easiest way to differentiate a Half-Elf from Elves is their capacity to grow beards and body hair while preserving their long thin noses and pointy ears. Half-Elves are often considered very attractive by other races, keeping the natural beauty of Elves while remaining more approachable and relatable as a Human is.

Biological Cycle

Half-Elves often reach adulthood at 20 and often live up to 180 years old
