Elf

As radiant as the moon, as the sun, and the night sky above. I had been saved as the trio cut down the bandits with the talent only centuries could train. I wish they stayed for a meal, it didn't feel right not to repay the favor.
-Rory Evans, Human Merchant on an Encounter with Elves
Elves are a people of an otherworldly grace, living as refugees from a world beyond. Long lived and eerily enchanting, elves oftentimes make their homes far beyond the boundaries of typical settlements, favoring a reclusive existence to their own to pursue the arts and the other such good things of the natural world.

A Curious Childhood

While the most ancient of elves might stand in the center of the oldest orders of Elven communities, it's not unlikely for an elf to grow curious of the world beyond their home during their early life. The call of Corellon can compel them to explore the world while they are still free from the duties of their elders and grow as people.

Nature Incarnate

Elves are a people only recently cursed with a physical constant form leaving elves with a large number of subraces acclimated to numerous different landscapes paired with vastly different cultures. The list of subraces includes:
  • High Elves (Sun/Moon)
  • Wood Elves
  • Drow
  • Sea Elves
  • Snow Elves

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Elves vary wildly beyond the range of Humans but mainly due to their attunement to the lands they occupy, a subgroup of elves vary far less than an equally populated subgroup of Humans due to a low birth and deathrate.
  • Sun Elves: Often have bright bronze to copper skin commonly with speckles of patina green and warm citrine eyes. Their hair ranges from light brown to dark blonde and is often curly and wild. They stand just above the average elven height and are below average in weight.
  • Moon Elves: Typically have smooth pale skin, occasionally tinted with a faint blue to light violet hue and speckled with flecks of white. Their eyes are range from bright almost radiant white to deep twilight. Their hair is commonly pure white and straight even from childhood. They are roughly equivalent to Sun Elves in form.
  • Wood Elf: Often described as having skin ranging from vibrant vine green to dark ebony bark in skin color with slight glints of moss green throughout and deep brown to green eyes. Their hair is dark dirt brown and typically wild. It is believed their hair grows faster and thicker than other elves, including body hair. Their teeth are also considered sharper than other elves.
  • Drow: Range from pure almost translucent pale white to dark twilight blue-gray skin, with spots of their original coloring, a result of living with silver dust and other metallic compounds prevalent in the air. This change is called "tarnishing" and is seen as a part of maturity, the older elves are described as having an almost glittery appearance under light. Their hair remains bright white. Physically they tend to be more muscular than the typical elf, above average in weight while below average in height.
  • Sea Elves: Are rarely seen though reports of sea elves describe them as having skin ranging from vibrant green to sea blue spotted with lighter semi-reflective blotches and hair that ranges from bright orange to sea green. They are believed to be far more stocky than most elves with webbed fingers and feet and sharpened teeth.
  • Snow Elves: Equally reclusive as the Sea Elf, scarce reports describe them having pale white-pink to ice blue skin, light blonde to white hair, and cool blue eyes. They are far above average in terms of weight and often described as being nearly Human in form.
