Gnome

If at first you don't succeed, make sure the shrapnel doesn't kill you.
- Common Gnomish Proverb
Gnomes bring with them an exuberant air of life and exploration, seeking out the mysteries of the world and building great mechanisms taking just as much pride in their failures as their victories. Their small stature misrepresents their capacity for great works, a Gnomish city like Lock is often buried under large clockwork mechanisms or hidden away from unwelcome guests underground or in the trees of the wilderness. To Gnomes Dwarves and Elves are some of their greatest allies.

Explosive Engineering

Gnomes have a deep respect for for hard work and labor, a love of the natural world, and a willingness to share their excitement with others. Gnomes that live in Human settlements oftentimes make great jewelers, tinkerers, and alchemists, provided the settlements is willing to work with the Gnome's proclivity for pranks, puns, and pyrotechnics, which they often do. The largest danger to Gnomes is themselves as they push their expertise further beyond their capacity oftentimes taking foolhardy risks to learn.

Insatiable Explorers

Despite their many years, a Gnome might often feel that there is simply not enough to do everything on their list. They take to the unknown well and thrive in situations that will otherwise be demoralizing, always noting that life is the greatest gift and worth exploring, the possibility of failure is never enough of a deterrent. If you find yourself in the companionship of a Gnome you will find yourself in the company of someone who will push you forward and show you truly how to appreciate the world you live in and the life you have.
