Devil

Denizens of the Nine Hells, Devils are beings of rigid societal structure and nefarious tyrannical dealings. Scarcely seen in the Material Plane since the Sundering, their influence over the multiverse faded into mythology rather than history.
Devils are not to be confused for Demonoids, beings of the Abyss as the two have been warring for all of known time.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Devil is a broad classification of all Devils which vary dramatically from one to the next. It is unknown if Devil can be considered a specific species as Devils who rise or fall on their societal standing undergo dramatic transformations to fit those also on the same rung.

Genetics and Reproduction

Devils do not reproduce conventionally, when a Devil corrupts the soul of a denizen on the Material Plane, on death or nullification of their contract that soul is ferried into the Nine Hells instead of the plane of worship to be reborn as a low level devil, the Lemur. Additionally however, these deals corrupt the bloodline of those that make them, should they have children there is the rare chance to have a first generation Tiefling. This corruption persists indefinitely down the family line.

Social Structure

Devils abide by a rigid structure, obey those in the higher rungs of society and lord over those in lower rungs. Hard work corrupting souls, eliminating competition, and growing influence is the only way to climb or fall in these societal rungs.
