Judicator
Jason's attempt at creating a weapon to save space, a Judicator is a dual-role weapon for the Order of the S'Vacian. In its default state, it appears like a thick sabre lacking a cutting edge, with a divot running the length of the striking edge, a breech near the hilt, and a rectangular slot about a third of the way from the tip. When activated by a switch under the banded hand guard, a short Energy Blade is emitted from the divot, allowing the wielder to cut through nearly anything with ease. When firepower is needed, the wielder puts their hand in the slot and forcibly cranks the hilt down into a rifle-like position, simultaneously causing the tip of the blade to flip up, revealing a shotgun barrel, and exposing the trigger from its slot in the cross guard. In this mode, the firer has to approximate their aim as the tip of the blade would obscure any type of aiming mechanism that would otherwise be mounted to the weapon, but are afforded the option of firing a blast at limited range. The Judicator can hold five rounds in an internal magazine and chambers rounds in the same transformation action described above. While criticized as being more form than function, the great weight of the Judicator has kept it in use among the Order of the S'Vacian, where its requirement of superhuman strength to operate helps keep energy blades out of human hands.
