"The boy clearly has talent" is sentiment that anyone in the leadership of the Northwest Syndicate will share about Tanner. They might follow up that sentiment with "He might not live long enough to use it." Tanner, you see, is definitely what one might call hot blooded. His tendency to ask - or speak - first and consider those actions later is evident to anyone who speaks with him. And once you start speaking with the lanky, mop haired youth, you might not get a word in edgewise. Just as much as he talks he also fidgets. Whether he's tapping a foot, bouncing in his seat or even flipping a knife across his knuckles, he's in constant motion.
Fortunately for Tanner, his instincts appear to be good. He seems to grasp the situation - whether it be tactically or strategically - almost immediately and his reactions to date have led to success in his various business ventures. In fact, his success despite his age has lead him to gain a minor leadership position within the Syndicate's Wargun operation. He now has burglars, enforcers, and cutpurses in the southwestern slums of the city reporting to him. He can often be found at Fire and Flatbreads after they close, reviewing details from his subordinates and snapping off orders between bites of charred goat (his favorite) and gulps of sour beer.
Young and gangly, Tanner has risen through the ranks of the Northwest Syndicate in Wargun due to his keen, almost instinctual understanding of situational tactics and long term strategy. Its good thing, too, because he runs his mouth incessantly and generally acts without thinking.
