Rai’ayl A'dorno

Soulmeliti Poet

Never one for the arts of sword or bow, like so many of the cousins in her A'dorno Family, Rai'ayl joined the church, electing to cloister herself away in meditation and study just before her hundredth winter. Fifty years later, emerged with what she declared as "clear of mind, clean of soul." This, she noted, was despite the many sins that the Soulmeliti have committed over their long history. Tyloma, she noted, has chosen the Soulmeliti and no matter how they stray, she will forgive them. Rai'ayl collected these thoughts in a single scroll, written of course in verse, entitled The Tiara of Tyloma.

From that moment on, Rai'ayl devoted her life to good works, believing that meditation, while useful, was not truly a pure act of faith. Only through sacrifice to those less fortunate could she possibly approximate the high standards that her goddess had set before her and, given the sins of her people, it was the least that she could do. Sadly, she contracted the plague while helping to rebuild a small village just north of Gastwyme along the River of Tears a mere forty years as her epiphany. The Church sanctified her a few years later, setting the words of her verse to music and declaring the Song of Forgiveness.
