Rahnhopf Marcussonsonsonsonson

Nerrid Naturalist

While Nerrid have long been fascinated with the workings of the natural world, few have taken this fascination to the extreme of Rahnhopf who blended academic pursuit of nature with a rugged survivalism. Author of over a dozen books on wild creatures and their habitats, Rhanhopf's most famous work its the Treasury of Chetria's Children, a card catalogue of creatures containing hand drawn art, fast facts, and his own signature classification system. Sadly, the effort required to produce the stunning catalogue - it had over five hundred different cards - was immense - and only a handful of copies were ever made. His signature classification system was also, ultimately, unsuccessful, with over four hundred different symbols and classifications used in his set of five hundred cards.

In addition to being a scholar, Rahnhopf was an avid outdoorsnerrid. He spend much time traveling across Tarien, documenting what he encountered and collecting maps. He also pioneered Nerrid survival techniques such as the "Carin shelter" (where one built a three sided shelter of stones) and the "billowing cloak defense" (where one made themself appear larger to predators with a bit of prestidigitation and a simple rain cloak). Sadly, he vanished on one such expedition to the forests at the northern end of the Nerrid Peninsula while attempting to study the strange four-armed apes native to the region.
