Poor Jakser was never blessed with physical gifts like good looks or a fast hands. His mind was never the quickest when playing cards or dice in the dirty Geylan alleys of his youth. And the candor that came from a mouth working faster than his common sense nearly left him beaten senseless on more than one occasion. Indeed, given all of these obstacles, it took a health does of Kayla’s own luck to get him through his childhood as an orphan.
He was, however, willing to follow instructions and work hard. With his first job as a chimney sweep and his second as a shill for one of the city’s better pick pockets he decided early on that taking gold was easier than earning it. His rise in the Mountain Highwaymen, however, has been anything but meteoric. Despite his insistence that he could be a second story man, he has spend most of the past three seasons freezing his toes off as an advance
scout in one band of brigands or another, just waiting for his big break. Hopefully, for his sake, when it finally comes his own competence won’t hold him back.
