Academy of Tarien
Idealistic Insitution of Higher Learning
Nestled into a harbor deep within the Dragon's Teeth, the Academy of Tarien was a short-lived effort to both compete with and improve upon the University of Karradone. Where the Univeristy was tied directly to the Empire, the half-dozen members of the Pre-Ordained who founded the Academy of Tarien were hoping to create an institution that transcended national and racial boundaries. By combining and education in history and politcs with arcane and martial training, they sought to create well rounded, highly educated individuals capable of defending the ideals that they beleived would prevent another Great War. The advent of the Second Elynthi War and Mage Wars certainly make it seem that this lofty goal was never attained. In fact, the Academy itself vanished in the fogs of myth during the latter conflict.
