Fort Cragmount
The dam, an impressive work of stone, mortar, steel, is but one piece, garrisoned and of great importance, of the massive fort known as Cragmount, and is by nature a strategic point of importance, the dam that helped birthed the Nordjeim River system as it is known today. It is a marvel of architecture, its sluice gates and the calculations for the slits within to allow an amount of limited waterflow to birth the Dugkra the result of decades of precise calculations by teams of engineers, the construction the result of thousands of gold imperials and tens of thousands of individuals sweat and labor within the construction of the whole system, dam, garrison, town and the new river over the near century of careful execution and construction the project took. Truly, a marvel that very likely only the dwarven people could ever have hoped to accomplish.
The garrison is mostly underground, with a castle within the city upon the hill, and a forward fort and structure that is the dam itself. Regular minimum compliment housed in this garrison is six hundred mixed troops, but it is easily capable of housing three or four times that within the tunnel complexes and underground fortification that make up easily sixty percent of the actual fortress, along with the above ground castle and the dam.
