Shimmer Snail

An iridescent shell encases the Shimmer Snail's body mimicking the appearance of a poisonous frog. While this is usually enough to keep predators at bay, the Shimmer Snail has another trick up it's shell. This gastropod produces a poisonous slime that few creatures are able to consume without growing ill. 

Habitat

Shimmer Snails live in the XXX Estuary near an abandoned wizard's tower. 

Uses

The iridescent shells of the shimmer snail are often collected and used for jewelry and clothing embellishments.

The Snail and the Madman

Half a century ago, there was a famous wizard who was said to have gone mad. He lived near the XXX Estuary and was often seen resting near the ocean. 
It's said that one day after a long day of alchemical study, the wizard fell asleep near the water. Attracted to the heavy scent of lemons that permeated his clothing, Shimmer Snails crawled all over his body. 
Rather than causing the wizard to grow ill, the trails of mucus impacted his mental state. After a rather wild night in town, the wizard disappeared in a puff of shimmer dust. Neither his body nor his spellbook have been found.
GM Note

The wizard did not go mad. He put on a show so he could continue his research in peace. Near the estuary, there is an underwater entrance to their hideout. The caverns travel between several locations on the Claw Continent. The estuary's entrance has a long tunnel that leads directly to the XXX Mountain.
