Animated Teapot

Entering the small shack, you enter a room that should be barren. Instead, you are greeted by dust covered furniture, foot prints, and bodies. On the far wall, there is a long forgotten teapot that should be collecting dust.
In a few breaths, you hear a growing whistle from the far wall. I'm going to need everybody to roll initiative.

Animated Teapots are both classified as creature and artifact. These mindless creatures are imbued with spirits of the deceased. The spirit could have left this life horrifically, have unfinished business, or decided to pass some time in a ceramic cell.
Given their mindless characteristic, Animated Teapots attack intruders disrupting their space. Their attacks include boiling water, steam, and deafening whistles. They cannot hear or speak.  When struck down with a blunt object, they shatter into tiny pieces and pierce everyone within range.
Some mages imbue teapots with alternate characteristics. These Spirit-less Animated Teapots can have other abilities and triggers. However, their abilities and triggers cannot be changed once a ritual is complete.
Given the vast changes in shape, size, and style of teapot, Animated Teapots can look like just about anything.
GM Note

Liches can use teapots as a phylactery. They need to fill the teapot with a source of great magic, typically water, and brew a special elixir inside.
