Latara

Latara is an elven priest of the god Persana, who served in his temple on Tolsta until being forced to leave the island for her own safety during the political upheaval which occurred after Lord Iona Durrell was deposed.
She appears in her mid-30s by human standards, pale and freckled, with brown eyes and light blonde hair which she usually wears in elaborate braids. She frequently wears a long hooded robe of grey velvet.

Days of Darkness

She approached Mal Aspen, Agnes Silverbrand, Aranevae 'Nev' Dardian and Reina Kerdar, claiming to be a priest of Eadro, when magical darkness fell on Tolsta to act as a guide through Tolsta's underground tunnels and allowing them to travel the city safely.

Quest Giver

Latara employed the adventurers to locate The Albassa Pearl when its expected arrival at the Temple of Persana was disrupted. While they did not return with the Pearl, she paid them for the information on its location, and warned them that Lord Iona Durrell was looking for them. She advised them to leave Tolsta, and sent the Temple bodyguard Rae with them to ensure their safety.
When they later returned to Tolsta seeking information about the devil Triel, she helped them and gave further warnings about their upcoming dealings with Lady San, as well as the ongoing political unrest on the island. She also gave Rae a new task, leading to Rae's separation from The Folly.

Leaving Tolsta

The secretive nature of the Temple of Persana eventually earned enough suspicion and disapproval from Tolsta's new Swiftblade rulers to cause Latara to leave, fearing her knowledge and contacts would put her at risk.
She arrived in Cannis City on a smugglers' ship on 13 Badri 829, where she ran into Mal Aspen. She employed Mal to retrieve a ring which had been extorted from her by the smuggler captain, in exchange for a future favour.
They then parted ways, with Latara travelling down the west coast of the continent in the hope of finding shelter at a Temple of Persana in Maril.
