Ashe Mission 3 - The Dead know no bounds
A strange zombie walks into town and wreaks havoc on the local populace.
The zombie is unkillable due to it's connection to it's spirit which still exists within 30 ft. of it. Due to a strange occurrence affecting a Lich's spell a zombie was created as well as the ghost of the human man who was the former body and soul.
He is a purchaser for the East Tellenheim Company in 2667 when he was killed by a Lich who took over his town. Now he haunts his own zombified self and just wants to pass on to the afterlife.
His zombie body is also affected with a curse which raises all bodies around it zombifies them. The range is about a mile and when it wanders into cemeteries hundreds of undead raise up and attack. This curse also extends to animals and even larger insects.
The main idea is to have the ghost appear to the team as they attack this zombie. It seems easy enough to kill as most zombies have pretty low HP. This one though gets right back up and reforms. The ghost narrates and explains to the team what is going on. Even during battles he just looks over their shoulders and blathers on incessantly.

- "Oh yeah that's not going to work. He just gets back up. Lots of warriors hit him with a sword or an axe. It never works."
- "Hey you can see me! oh that's great. How are you guys?"
- "So, adventurers huh? You guys leave home on a quest, face some trials, risk your lives for others?"
- "You seem a little green, sure you are up for undead stuff?"
- "Yeah I used to be a purchaser for one of the trading companies back in the sixties."
- "You ever have Crossbones whiskey? They only make it over in the crossroads."
- "Something about their rye and corn they grow there."
- "Looks like you are working up a sweat there, ever use a handkerchief under your collar?"
Plot points/Scenes
There is a small town near the Porskan Crater called Vela'Rus. I have a shipment of a shard infused alloy known as Corminium. The shipment was supposed to arrive over a week ago and we haven't had any messages or word from anyone in that area. I would like you to investigate and bring me my shipment of Corminium. I will pay you each 20 gold and maybe we can start designing some weapons for you all.
The Story of Jonbert Waymond
30 years ago Jonbert was a carriage driver and a shipment supervisor for the East Tellenheim Company. While transporting a load of rare artifacts and artwork from Lamborginus to Penthos he ran into trouble on the road. Beset by bandits his hired group of mercenary adventurers engaged into combat. Jonbert hid under the carriage to wait out the bloodshed. A wild magic explosion created by the sorceror of the party killed jonbert but also infused his corpse with death energy. The Ushabti of Khabeknet became tied with his corpse creating an unkillable zombie. Shunting his soul a few feet from the corpse created a ghost of Jonbert that now haunted his body and linking the specter to a 50 ft radius around the shambling zombie body. Now the zombie body seeks the Ushabti to end it's torment, all the while it raises any undead in the area of 3 miles around the zombie.
When killed the zombie reforms and begins to move again. Jonbert references a story from a decade ago when a team of adventurers carved up the zombie into several pieces and buried them miles from each other. It took several weeks but the parts all found their way up out of the ground and reformed. For the last 30 years the zombie has been following the Ushabti all over the continent.
Now in a warehouse in Vela'Rus the Ushabti sits in a crate waiting to be sailed to Serpico city to be added to a collection of art owned by a powerful high ranking member of the East Tellenheim Company. The zombie Jonbert or "Zombert" as Jonbert refers to it, makes it's way to Vela'Rus.
