The town of Ashe has seen many dangers over the last month. A stampede of Dinosaurs, A brush with the dangerous cult of Eigeralon known as the Adherents of Iron, and a sighting of a green dragon. As always this has created gossip and business opportunities.
Ashe sits on the river of daggers an important waterway and the lifeblood of commerce across the continent. It also borders the Ashen Forest, an important source of firewood, furs, and meat. It’s most important attribute however is it’s independence. It has always remained outside of the influence of the great houses of Penthaheim and the Eigerlands, a free town. This brings in all manner of merchants, hunters, adventurers, nomads and asylum seekers. It also brings in Smugglers, Assassins, Rogues, Criminals and those on the run from the law.
With Autumn nearing most of the town’s inhabitants thoughts are on gathering enough firewood and food to make the winter as comfortable as possible. With a few months remaining of good weather it is also a time of festivals and feasts. This week is the feast of Calwyn, honoring an ancient hero who founded the town hundreds of years ago. Hundreds of travelers, merchants, and visitors have descended on the town over the last few days and the small port is overwhelmed with ships.
Wes - you went to bed fairly early last night after gathering firewood for hours. A mere day since your strange but dangerous journey with the Unicorn. With two days of hard travel through the forest and the entire day of hard labor you hit the pillow and conked out hard. You awake the following morning but remain motionless in bed. You body paralyzed and your eyes wide open. A strange sense of fear and panic begins to overtake you when a shadow in your room begins to move. A woman strides out of it, her hair plaited with thin vines and branches all woven together. Tiny leaves and fuzzy lichen complete the look of wild long hair. She is quiet beautiful though despite her greenish skin and bright yellow eyes.
She strides forward and leans over you bed. Her finger drags across your stomach and up your chest stopping on your chin. Her nail seems to be made of hard wood and is quite sharp. She says in a low sultry voice
“Wes the ranger, you came into the forest and tried to sneak a magnificent beast out of our reality without me knowning. Yes, this upsets me but I also find it kind of brave and noble. Perhaps you are someone worth paying attention to.” She frowns as she sees you try to form words but your mouth won’t move. “I hear the frustration in your struggles, this must be difficult for you.” She drags her finger down your side hard but doesn’t break the skin.
“Don’t worry poppet, we will speak soon.” The fingers for a moment brush your side sensually before she jabs her nail into your side hard and you feel a sharp pain like being stabbed with a knife. In that moment you awake from the dream to find yourself alone in the room. As you look down at your wound you instead find a strange green tattoo of tree being eaten by a serpent.

Plot points/Scenes
Crashe dream -
You find yourself in a city you do not recognize, even the clothing and architecture feels different. Roll a history check despite your lack of intelligence. You look around at well dressed people going about their normal lives but the hairstyles are reminiscent of an age long gone. Perhaps you've seen these style depicted in fairy tales for children or the books your gnome parents were always reading about the previous age. You lean against a stone wall in a large city square. A wide circular, ornately sculpted fountain burbles in the middle. It has a series of dolphins and fish squirting jets of water into a large pool below.
As you scan the crowd you see a young girl, agitated and a little disheveled walk into an alleyway. Behind her a thin man glides in between a couple of carriages with the walk of a practiced rogue. He spots the girl and follows her into the alley. You follow almost instinctually, as you pass by the shop you were next to you catch a glimpse of yourself in a mirrored surface. Long red hair pulled back into an intricate braid, tall and sinewy, sharp elven features but not your own. Your clothing matches the style of everyone else. Breeches pulled up to the knees with patterned stockings, soft leather shoes and a brightly colored tunic with a high collar. A small red jacket over the tunic which pulls back into long tails that hang just above your stockings.
You enter the alley to see the thief with a dagger held up to the woman's throat. What would you like to do? You pull your sword in a swift easy motion, almost too fast, as if you have done this thousands of more times than you currently have. You strike fast with a parry you didn't know you were capable of. You knock aside the thief's counter strike and with a flick of the wrist disarm the rogue. The sword clatters to the cobblestone street and as you decide whether to kill the man or not the girl looks up at you and mouths a name. You struggle to remember what it was when you wake up.
The Morning
First Jaron talks with Wes. He tells him to look after the strange sun elf that is town. He mentions that many different factions have noticed the elf. He says that someone like Crashe stands out in this town. Those folk that are good deep down inside stick out like a firefly on a dark summer night. Jaron has been in this town of scum and villainy for a long time and he knows what happens to people like Crashe. They either get corrupted or killed.
He mentions that the Red Wulves were seen in town. A mercenary group that takes on all types of jobs if the pay is right. He heard them mention that they had trained Crashe at some point and are looking for him. That can only mean one thing, they will impress him into service. Once you are on their rolls they are very difficult to shake off.
Crashe you start your day at the Constellation Inn a room on the second floor. How do you start your day?
Whatever happens he is approached by the two Red Wulves who badger him to accept the mission. It is a mission to stop thieves, Revlar Groundtooth's band of stagecoach robbers. "Crashe you still owe us for training and equipment, it's part of the pact to take on these missions. We lost two of our party traveling up here, one to disease and one had his leg broken by his horse. We need the manpower."
Premalkin Po sets up Wes to look like a murderer when a trick arrow winds up in the back of townsperson. He frames Wes to turn the heat up and try to get one over on him. He stabs Zinjah Sheeth with a trick arrow modeled after the kind Wes uses. In her back the arrow protrudes, it is one of the vial arrows that is carrying a lethal does of Giant Toad Poison. In truth he abducted an artificer from Westinox and rigged up the arrow to look just like the work of Jaron. He has a small outpost just south of town that used to be Fort Oswicz. He has kept the artificer there locked up, a gnome named Vingel Vanodel. He also has several hobgoblin thugs there waiting to take on Wes and keep guard.
Battle at the Caravan -
By the time the small team tracks down the dwarves they are amongst several carriages. Clearly they have hit many and a good perception check reveals an ETC carriage, A House Quail marked carriage, and a carriage that clearly belonged to the RHC. The dwarves mill about the large camp site that is situated in a glen several miles off the road. They have covered their tracks to the best of their ability. Dwarf number 2 stands atop one of the carriages investigating the barrels secured there. [perception check DC 17 reveals that it is a small barrel of tanglefoot]
[Dwarf number 5 and 6 stand amidst a barrel of explosive powder that is set off will do 5d6 damage.]
