The Council of Cade

Without a hair to lead the empire, Cade establishes a council of lessor royals with minimal scope to rebuild the kingdom. As time passes, the Council grows in power and influence.

After an initial search for an heir to the throne is unsuccessful, a guiding body is formed to govern Cade thru its rebuilding. The Council of Cade is narrowly tasked with reestablishing necessary functions and securing the empire and primarily finding a rightful heir. Months go by without finding an heir, and in that time “The Council” continues to grant itself more power.   Eventually, a child is found to be a distant relative of King Hune and he is crowned King Rollant, but it will be another 14 years before he can rule the kingdom. Before Rollant comes of age, he is discovered to be the bastard son of King Aaron. Upon this discovery, the Council of Cade officially proclaims itself the ruling body of the Empire of Arleaon and relegates the king to a figurehead position. The lineage of Rollant is kept secret initially but is discovered some time after the king’s death. This truth still plague’s his heirs as they try to perform their limited duties.
