Introduction to Draece's Legacy

This world is dying; woefully singing its ultimate swan song; an anguished gasp of sorrow, crooned as it kneels down beneath its own weight, short of breath, bereft of hope and rid of colour. The ancient forests whisper dreadfully, for their Fey masters are fading like an ardent dream come morning. The mountains and the plains lie barren, trampled beneath the footsteps of a thousand feet marching to battle; darkened are the skies through the hundred spears they brandish. Silenced now the music of the waves, for the valleys and the shores echo with a looming roar, as the cogs are turning and the grim machine of war feasts upon the living and the dead. Ever revving, ever hungry, like a clockwork rabid beast whose jaws are clenched upon our world, it crushes fools and wise alike.

...thus this springtime's flowers wither, no more for us to blossom...

The past era concluded in a crescendo of dissonance, as the Empire of Dragons crumbled down to ruin, its fallen riders standing monument to the blunders of the The Golden Covenant; the mountainous corpses of their wyrms, landmarks of a glory waning. In the shadows cast by that same waning Glory, the blossom of unity bloomed on the silver tongue of Nicol Bolas, for he sowed seeds of hope on the wastelands left behind by the onslaught of the Mad God. The emperor spoke word of a modern manifesto, one to shatter the traditions of old whom brought woe upon the lands of Relavar. He spoke of one unified council, comprised of ambassadors from all Kingdoms, and the election of a supreme representative for the people of Relavar. The one to bear this title, was to be bound under oath divine and unbreakable; sworn to serve and protect. He was to be granted access to the ancient secrets that adorned the Golden Halls of Auravörn, and to use those secrets to the benefit of all. He was to brandish pick and hammer, not as instruments of war; used them to rebuild, regrow, so this world would finally know... "Prosperity and Beauty".

The manifesto spread throughout the halls of Kings and Queens. But well those halls of old did know the dangers that it poses. For the establishment of an entity: benevolent, supreme, as written and described in words eloquent therein, anew should they recall upon the purest flame beggoten. Thus the tomes of ancient lore laid open once again. And Relavar did shake in awe beneath their godly pressure. The victors of The Doomspire War regathered and conspired; meticulously, thoroughly the old lore was inquired, and finally the words would mold, now of silver, not of gold, the Covenant was drafted.

...no God shall spill the blood of God,
our Kin no more shall scatter
when speaking pledges most divine,
no lip divine must falter...

Following the Summer of The Silver Covenant, an era of prosperity did bless the lands of Relavar. The Kingdoms restored their monuments, the plains grew lush again and the forges lit with clanking boom now forging instruments of craft rather than destruction. Nicol Bolas was elected Supreme Representative of the people of Relavar and all Seven Kingdoms did find great value of his serving time. The fires of war no more did burn as they were quenched by the flowing rivers of diplomacy and welfare. Alliances of old were honoured once again and new factions were re-established with the sole purpose of advancing the world to a new era. Unfortunately, in the twilight of the following century, this era's brilliance begun to fade, for within the The Unified Council the seeds of discord proliferated.

In the year 637, an abyssal threat had been creeping into the material plane. The crevices for its arrival were forming deep beneath the waves, in the trenches of the The Vibrant Depths. Tamesis Saltreef, husband to Rosaneyra Laexes and ambassador of the Kingdom of the Tail, where the Abyssal Scar was located, adamantly advocated its removal. However, as the matter was of Global importance, the council had to make an assertion. The ambassador of House Jurgenhad and brother to God King Brokrom unsurprisingly sided with Tamesis, for the two houses shared strong bonds. Averenya of House Varlath also sided with Tamesis Saltreef for they shared a common faith as well as plenty of customs and trade. House Essirae, House Caishen and House Krilya were opposed to the Scar's removal, as they advocated for its utmost significance as an area of scientific and arcane interest. The deciding vote had to be of House Vonahaf, however Myardred decided to vote for none of the two options, keeping a neutral front on the matter. The council came to a stalemate.

The council's inability to come to a definitive conclussion over the matter, troubled Tamesis Saltreef to a great degree, for his house was the one in immediate danger. In the meantime, most of the High Elf nobility showed political and scientific interest in the Scar, however their Wood Elf brethren absolutely didn't. The Elven Houses were, again, in a state of Turmoil and House Varlath was caught among two storms. In the year 638, after the council had failed to reach a conclussion several times, Averenya Varlath was assassinated. The Solemn Tribunal of Regalth asserted House Essirrae to be the responsible, orchestrating the assassination in order to skew the council's decision and further their political Adgenda. The drums of war could be heard again through the halls and corridors of Relavar. House Varlath demanded Justice and Nicol Bolas had to take his Seat as emperor to prevent further Bloodshed. The The Unified Council of the Silver Covenant had failed.

Nicol Bolas started his rule as Emperor with the Disbandment of House Essirae. They were stripped of their seat of power as Kings of Valora and House Samira-Sebak was crowned in their stead.
