The Conflict of the Night Gods
Once upon a time, there were a sudden influx of gods and goddesses of the night that a divine conflict was on the brink of occurring until an agreement was made; the time between the twenty-second hour and sixth hour is considered the Eight Hours of the Night and the most powerful of the nocturnal deities amongst the Ralus Faith claim one each.
However, seeing as how no one worships specific times with devotion, their acquiring of divine power instead comes from mortal recognition of time. A mortal simply asking what the time is or looking at a clock gives them power.
One such goddess is
Nighlou; Queen of the 4th Hour.

Familial Relationships
Due to the absolute rarity for two mortals to ascend to divinity and be blood-related at the same time, many gods get together and declare themselves brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, cousins, etc.
They remember these mortal expressions and their endearing nature, and decided to apply them to those of divine nature that would accept them.
