The Divine Six
When the world was younger, the gods physically walked the world, affecting and ruling it. The people of that time rebelled against their tyrannical ways and tore their divine rulers and their domains off of the planet, and into separate dimensions, locked behind a Material Gate.
Then the Annihilation came, falling from outer space, and would strike the planet if its path remained undisturbed. The gods of all creeds realized their end was tied to that of their jailers and then united to stop it, broking through the gate to aid their past subjects. But they merely halted it. True to its name, it annihilated the majority of the gods and the lands it touched, sending destruction to the rest.
But the divines that would later be known as the Divine Six survived, saved by the Alsmage at random. Awakening hundreds of thousands of years later, they woke in a world unknown to them by their savior. He showed them the humans arriving from the Frozen North onto the soil of Sor Rusk, and they began their work.
From that day on, they have stood as the top of the Ralus Faith and have guided the devoted members of humanity and the other races under their care ever since.
