Blade of Navaros

The Blade of Navaros was created when Urbos, God of the Nether bound Navaros, God of Fate and Prophecy into a sword to carry into the final battle of The Great Aether War.

Description

Many depictions exist of the sword in art, and none of them can agree on the size of the weapon. Some depictions of the sword describe it as a massive, two-handed sword which Urbos was able to wield in one hand with ease. Others paint the blade with a more reasonable size. Some aspects do remain constant across renditions. The blade is always depicted as dark as night, and the cross-guard is styled like the wings of a raven. At the center of those wings rests the skull of a crow.

Fate of Navaros

The Blade of Navaros is a direct result of The Ultimate Prophecy, when Navaros predicted that the assault on the Aether would fail. Urbos was furious with this prophecy and decided to bind Navaros into this form, tying his fate to the outcome in the battle.   According to legends, the Blade of Navaros was destroyed after Ilos, God of the Sun and Agriculture first crossed weapons with Urbos. As soon as their weapons collided, the Blade of Navaros shattered into thousands of pieces which then spread themselves across the material plane below. Thus, Navaros was destroyed and the battle for the heavens was won by the Aether Gods.

In Culture

Urbos, Navaros, and the sword were the subject of one of the most infamous tragedies of the world, Cruel Fate by Sigmour Denzen. Sigmour describes the tragic irony wherein Urbos's actions to ensure his victory led to his downfall. Since the work portrays many of the Nether Gods as sympathetic characters, it is considered heresy by the Theocracy of Ilos.
