Afida

Sitting high above the Rocking River is the city of Afida. Located at approximately the midpoint of the Rocking River, the city is a convenient way to cross the river giving local inhabitants a few more prospective customers.

Infrastructure

The heart of the city is located on a large SkyLand with the remainder of the city sprawls out below and around the SkyBridge.

There is a central fountain which is fed by a spring within the SkyLand. Water is routed from this fountain in six directions. Two large channels lead in opposite directions toward the SkyBridges. The other four conduits are smaller and lead to other areas of the SkyLand itself. After 500 feet (15 meters) each conduit fills a pool. From that pool, two more conduits lead away at 60 degrees from the inlet conduit and form two more pools where water collects. People gather water from these pools to use in their homes.

Districts

Skyland - This is the main portion of the town. The central fountain is surrounded by a plaza that is teeming with visitors on the weekly market day, but largely empty otherwise.

SkyBridge - Here are primarily farms used to support the city population of Afida as well as homes for the farmers. They grow grain and produce primarily, but also keep goats and yaks for dairy products and meat.

Bridge Ends - The SkyBridge of Afida straddles the Rocking River. Small docs are located near the bridge ends for fishing boats and trade ships. There are a few warehouses near the end of the northeast bridge. There are also a few shops located at both bridge ends.

Geography

The city of Afida is located in the Dotted Yaklands with one bridge end on each side of the Rocking River. It is 19 miles (32 km) up the Rocking River from the coast of the Tranquil Expanse.
