Jimmy grew up in the heart of South Central in LA. When you start your life here, your outlook on the world tends to be grim. From your neighborhood, you can see the hollywood hills, filled with stars and billionaires. So some people live the fast life, thinking they wouldn't want a long one in the first place. Jerod grew up around this kind of mindset, and he started to share the same views.
Jimmy joined the gang when he was just thirteen, and hopped off the porch with a quickness. By the time he was 14 he had at least 4 different neighborhoods who wanted to take his head off. When his best friend was killed, he was enveloped in such a bout of meloncholic rage he nearly lost it. He came to a crossroads, and was planning on going full steam ahead in the wrong direction. But his best friends father decided to show him something about his best friend that he never knew. He had test scores, letters of recommendations, science camp awards, and early college admissions. Jimmy never knew about this, his friend honestly tried to tell him but Jimmy never saw a future though school, and always changed the topic. His friend, through sheer loyalty to Jimmy, only stayed in the gang to watch Jimmy's back, and was leaving to live a better life.
He was confused, and demoralized that his friend didn't share this with him. He assumed his friend thought he'd never leave, but he'd happily start over to see something new. His friends father asked if he'd still like to go, because they no longer had a reason to stay without their son. He chose the new life, he packed up and they picked him up with his parents permission. On their way out of town, sitting at a red light, one of those people who wanted Jerod's head saw him in the backseat.
Shots rang out as Jimmy screamed for them to drive. They weaved through traffic avoiding bullets, windows shattering next to them. They crashed next to Union Station, running inside for help but the security guards were occupied already. They got separated with his friends mom making it on a train already. The father and Jimmy hiding and running trying to make it, they were in spitting distance and the train was about to leave. Steps away from the doors as a bullet goes through the fathers chest. The guards finally caught up, shooting at the attackers as they escaped. Jimmy watched as the train sped away watching his friends mother bawling her eyes out. He saw one of the attackers hiding from the guards, his anger activated his Nola gene as he hit him. He swung again and again until his arms were moving so fast they were barely visible. When he stopped, the body had been liquified and the wall behind it was nearly decimated. The last chance for Jimmy to change his ways left on that train, and now his only path led to becoming Packout.
