There has to be a narrator for every story, right? And in this case, it's me. Ruby Gray. Naturally, being who I am, I have no intention of laying out the truth exactly, even if E will probably slip in a few things that I would rather people not know about me.
I'm a supervillain. One of the youngest around, if not the youngest ever to achieve so much. Proportionally, of course, and on this planet. We're not discussing species with a shorter lifespan or a faster adolescence.
I'm known as Doctor Despair. It doesn't quite suit my powers, of course, but it focus tested well and it's not often that someone gets to shape their public name so readily.
I am something of a scientist. I hesitate to call myself such, since I usually fail to follow the scientific process exactly. I'm more of an explorer of the scientific disciplines. Engineering I'm good at, genetics being more of an art and my best hobby.
A/n: She likes being enigmatic because she genuinely doesn't know who she was before the age of six. Woke up in a lab, alarms blaring, lying on a bed, and being Ruby she got up and started exploring. She found me, and we found someone else, and then my parents found us. For being six years old, she took charge awfully fast.
As a founding member of the Chaos Coalition (at least, the most recent iteration of it), I am afforded a certain amount of respect.
A/n: They have no idea she's a teenager, mostly assuming that she's just short, and those that know have seen her in action and are suitably terrified. She took the head off a member of The Big Nine (who was a robot so they were able to find an old memory backup and replace it, but still). That kind of thing would give anyone a certain amount of street cred.

It's not that she's not arrogant, because she is, a little bit. But it’s more confidence. She’s been operating as a free agent for a long while now, and succeeding in a world of adults. A bit more volatile now she’s a teenager, and a bit too sure and confident in what she’s capable of, but if she’s overreaching it’s less because she’s overconfident and more that she’s stretching herself to her limits and beyond. So very confident, and also too honest. Has negative opinions about people and is perfectly comfortable expressing them. Even when it’s rude and unnecessary and she’ll change her opinion in five minutes once she learns a little better.
