Invisible Car

Periodically someone invents one of these and somehow they never realize that it's a bad idea until after it's done. Some don't even realize until after it's caused a major traffic accident because it's very hard to avoid a car you can't see. Coupled with the fact that the invisibility tech usually renders it fairly fragile, this particular vehicle is an exercise in futility.   E/N: She knew all of this going into the endeavor and yet she still made one.   But it's also a bunch of fun to say that you have an invisible car. So we'll work through a few of the details you might need if you hypothetically wanted to make your own.

Choosing a Base Model

Of course there are a lot of different possibilities. You could just make your own vehicle from scratch, but it's much more efficient to steal or hijack someone else's existing car. Invisibility is hard enough, you might as well recycle something and not have to think about the nuances of a car engine. There's also a point to be made for adapting an existing car so that when it's visible no one will pay particular attention to your vehicle, which is definitely something someone using an invisible car wants.   I personally prefer a fossil fuel model, because then you can't accidentally hook up the invisibility to the engine and get stuck somewhere even as your invisibility fails. Or if the car engine fails, then you can remain hidden while you figure out what to do next because they're two separate systems. But there are a lot of arguments to be made with using electric, especially with modern models being exceedingly quiet.   E/N: Go electric. She likes gas powered vehicles because she can blow them up more easily when she needs to. It's also easy enough to make the power sources separate, and an advantage if one of them fails is that you can tie them together and still have a working vehicle.   I also recommend using the oldest model of car you can find that still functions to your specifications. Newer cars tend to be packed up with all sorts of useless extras that you won't need if your car is invisible.
