Great Tycoon

The Great Tycoon is the ruler of Bajapur, elected by the Moguls of the seven most powerful merchant houses from amongst their number.
The Tycoon rules Bajapur for a period of seven years, at the end of which time the wealth and power of the city is tallied up by the Great Houses. If Bajapur is wealthier than it was at the commencement of the Tycoon's rule, their House retains the wealth they acquired during the period. If Bajapur is poorer, the Houses vote as to whether the Tycoon is responsible for the loss or could have avoided it; if they are deemed to be, the House's entire wealth is stripped from it to be returned to the city, and the upper caste of the House is sold into slavery.
