The anti magic movement

Starting as part of the goblin culture, a mistrust of magic in general has spread through a small number of the populace in most places. Considered the great art by elves, many who find themselves living in elvish lands and have no magic think of it as a way of oppressing the populace. Out side of elven lands the goblin mistrust of magic has found it's firmest roots among the section of the guard called 'Black Cloaks' in most places.   These elite investigators often find that magical answers are both suspect and unfulfilling. Magi may be able to use spells to help interpret evidence but that doesn't mean that the sorcerer's elemental interpreted it correctly. Druid's can talk to animals but what did the animal really say? Did the Druid repeat it verbatim or are they now playing a game of whispers (called telephone in our world)? Just because a wizard saw something in a crystal ball doesn't mean the person wasn't wearing a disguise. With those above them almost always willing to take an easy answer, most investigators find themselves being forced into closing cases that are unfinished on the word of some magic user or other. Often these 'quick closed' cases haunt them for the rest of their career.   In different areas some have adopted particular bracelets or medallions to identify themselves to each other as people who mistrust the easy answers and solutions that magi provide. They will often do extra work to keep magic users from being called in for various tasks. While this is not often practical and in some cases a very bad idea, paranoia and bigotry often find strange places to manifest themselves.   The questions raised by this movement have led to several debates among the wise. Questions from 'why would compelled elementals do anything for a sorcerer honestly?' to 'How do we know that the area wasn't magically altered before you came to look at it?' These questions often have more to do with the way the magi uses their spells and how they are built, individual magic user by individual magic user, rather than having a broad application but that doesn't mean the questions are invalid. Commonly this small movements questions and concerns are dismissed by others. At times to the detriment of society as a whole especially when it comes to matters of justice.
