The chief of the Sootscale Kobolds and ruler over the Old Sycamore.
Although Kobolds are generally regarded as selfish, Chief Sootscale declined a bribe of shiny things from Kiin out of concern for the wellbeing of his tribe.
After joining the The Land of the Silver Star, he gave his headdress to Kiin.
He seems to distrust Tartuk for his actions at the Old Sycamore, but Tartuk doesn't remember doing any of them.
