Ganymede

With both a magnetosphere, a decent rocky size, and an oxygen holding atmosphere, the moon of Jupiter was once the prime candidates for total terraformation, Ganymede was hard struck by The First Wave. Of the millions on the surface of the planet more than 70% were killed in the conflict and of them many were digitized and implanted in the survivors leading to the famous traits of the Ganymedians,
Now Ganymede is still recovering as part of the Celestial Connection yet hope for being the organizations first garden world remains as the cities and hopes of the people of Ganymede begin to rebuild.
Ganymede is a direct democracy, using digital voting build into the implants all Ganymedians get at birth to allow all decisions to pass through approval by all of its citizens with access to the net. However there is the Representative Board that proposes and argues legislation before it goes to the body politic. While all laws must pass vote by the people, and only on passing the Board that are they put up to the body politic. There is also a Governor General which is elected every year by direct democracy.

Geography

Ganymede is a largely rocky colony. It is known for being suspended in a state of half terraformation. It's soil is covered in lichen and low grasses with swamps in it's ravine. Some animals and fish can be found, including lightless fish in its underground salt water ocean. Yet fauna life is few and far between, several spots rendered lifeless by Xenophage creatures consuming all fauna within miles. Despite that it's state is stable thanks to it's magnetosphere and the atmosphere is thickening at a sickeningly slow pace. One can walk the surface of the planet with only a single iodine pill and an oxygen tank. Though the air is safe, it is too thin to fully support free movement. However its cities and towns tend to have oxygenators to allow more comfortable pedestrian life. 
The atmosphere of Ganymede is also being thickened by its own heavy industry. As what would be see as pollutants today on earth is simply needed carbon in the atmosphere there and many of the largest corporations in the CC call Ganymede home. This has given Ganymede a lot of economic importance in the CC often seen as its economic heart, but also given megacorps a lot of power to control public opinion on the moon.

Climate

The moon is usually described as being deeply cold and wet ravines and tundra like at its surface. Needing a lot of artificial heat to keep it that way largely powered by radiation thrown off by Jupiter.

History

Ganymede was once of the dream worlds for earth during the golden age. After the successful Terraformation of Mars, eyes went to Ganymede. It was the largest moon in the system and also had an active magnetosphere. Though small, and radioactive Jupiter presented a problem. Instead was high and the sense that humanity could accomplish anything was a powerful force. So many colonist arrived and hundreds of corporations attempted to make a name for themselves by being a part of this new achievement. Ice shipped in from Saturn were dropped on to the surface, salt water was cleaned and brought the the surface. Heavy industry thickened the atmosphere and Lichen seeding was taking off. Things Looked up and the process was working. 
Then The First Wave struck. The massive population of Ganymede attacked the bulk of it's attention, and the moon was immediately a sight of battle. 85% of its population was estimated dead or dying. Where Callisto's survivors burned their dead and abandoned the moon, the people of Ganymede decided to do something many considered a sin. Digitizing their dying population and implanting them in their young. This practice has widened to include any deaths before the age of 40 and in general almost all modern Ganymedians have a second person inside their cybernetics sharing their lived experience.
The Ganymedian's were a founding member of both the Jupiter Compact and eventually the Celestial Connection, they currently hold the economic chair of the organization in perpetuity and have the highest GDP of the CC, outpacing even the wealthy neighbor of Europa. Ganymede has continued to push for the expansion of the CC, but under exclusively diplomatic means. Free Trade and capitalist ideals are very popular among the society, though still mixed with some social safety networks. However, in recent times as the population has boomed on Ganymede, poverty and unemployment has become a major problem in some of the larger cities coupled with the disparity of Ganymede's hyper-wealthy.

Tourism

Ganymede is a popular tourist local for ecological tourism. Many pay good money to walk along the living soil without need of a EVA suit. Baring neither the smell of Io or the radiation storm dangers of it and Europa. However this is diminished some by the associations with their major cities and poverty.
