Nangalad Character in Stella | World Anvil

Nangalad

Nangalad, The Solar Justice

Nangalad, The Solar Justice, also known as 'Sunlight' or 'The Star Solas' was the goddess of celestials, honesty and light. Her dogma centers mostly around living a good and honest life, while being vigilant of evil and corruption.   In multiple different versions of the story of creation Nangalad is mentioned to be a daughter of Adar & Naneth. While working with Erui to shape what we know to be the material plane, she took to creating the skies and the stars as well as transforming herself into the sun to cast daylight onto the world.

Divine Appearance

While many depictions of Nangalad exist, in general they describe her form in a similar manner. A young elven woman with long ears like Naneth, but with pupil-less blue eyes and endlessly long golden hair. Her form possesses sixteen wings, set in eight pairs across her back. Golden feathers on those wings hide countless eyes beneath them that are ever observant. Surrounding her is a blinding light which can be bright enough to scorch and scorn if she so wishes. She is also referred to as the star Solas, which is the world's sun.   While usually shown wearing simple toga's or tunics and not very defensive, Nangalad is usually depicted with a long and golden spear or lance in her hand. This weapon of known as 'Lanceola Solaris' or the 'Lance of the Sun' is braided from Nangalad's own hair and is said to be powerful enough to tear a rift through the planes and sear them together.

Celestial Creator

To safeguard the world that Nangalad shaped in unison with the other gods, she created a race of creatures in her own likeness known as 'Celestials' and dived them into ranks with different tasks. While these Celestials all had responsibilities and were created with a purpose in mind, Nangalad did create them with a will of their own. This was done to allow them the choose of whom to serve, if anyone at all and to shepherd those creatures they saw potential in towards a better future.
