Tyson Leeman, The First Dragonslayer

First Dragonslayer Tyson Leeman (a.k.a. The Slayer)

"I used to serve a mistress that had no intention of kindness, sympathy, or even basic decency. I served because I was scared, not only for myself and what she may have done to me. But also for my family and what other masters may have come if I had succeeded. I don't have a family now. I have nothing left because I was fearful of her. But look at her now, look what I have proven can be done with the hands of a single human. Let us show the lizards what we can do with 10, 100, 1000 pairs of these small fleshy hands!"   -Tyson's Call To Arms after Tessith's death

Personal history

Tyson grew up under the rule of the blue Dragon Overlord Tessith. His parents were proud people and made their way being hunter-traders. Tyson was taught alongside his parents to hunting elusive guarjas, large muscular feline creatures, for their thick pelts. Life as simple and difficult under Tessith's rule, but the Leeman's managed to keep to themselves and pay enough tribute to her reign to appease her. As a boy Tyson didn't see they fairness sending these tributes. It all seem unfair to him as they worked hard to hunt their prey and the dragon and her underlings did nothing. Seeing the anger in their boy, the Leeman's began to teach their son lessons in respect in their hunting. It didn't matter if what a creature did was fair or if they deserve it, dangerous creatures have earned respect because of what they can and could do. If it wasn't Tessith, some other dragon would take over and most likely be worse because of how they people treated their predecessor. Strength and power, no matter how unfair or cruel, deserves respect.   Young Tyson took these lessons to heart as he grew older, making him a better hunter for it. He carried these lessons through his life. For the first guarja he hunted by himself. For when his family was robbed by bandits. For when he found his first love. For when his children decided to adventure. For when his parents were executed by Tessith for hunting in "her" new forest. For when his wife took ill and died because the dragonborn to heal her. For when he refused to join local rebellions and resistances. He continued to live his life lonely and miserable.   His two sons were disgusted by, what they saw as, Tyson's fear and self-loathing. They joined the one of the rebellions and their father never heard from them again. But he was living by what his parents had taught him. The strength of the dragon's couldn't be beaten and to not realize the power they wield is disrespectful and foolish. The problem wouldn't be fixed by ousting Tessith, it would only make it worse. And that is what he tried to explain to a one-eyed bar patron. "Well friend you are probably right. Tessith isn't the problem and dragons are fiercesome creatures. People should be wary of what they can do. But let me ask you a question, if you go hunting a beast and find out that it is more clever or bigger then you thought, do you just give up on the hunt." That night was a changing point for Tyson. Understanding his parents lesson for the first time.   Tyson immediately sought out to join the Scaleless Soldiers. A group of conscripted and volunteer human soldiers who served the dragon overlord. He spent 5 years as a soldier honing his skills and studying his prey. He eventually became a commander of his own regiment and served Tessith dutifully. In her service he slew rebels, dissenters, and people who displeased the overlord without hesitation. Looking for his opportunity.   4509, the year the Scale Wars began. Other dragons had moved into Tessith's territory, invited at first, now with force and conquering intent. Tessith moved her most loyal soldiers closer to her lair in the Deadfall Mountains, anticipating a strike at the core of her dominion. She couldn't have been more right. After years of waiting Tyson found his chance to move. Dressing himself in his hunters garb and equipped in with a spear man of deep forged steel, he took to Tessith's throne room and slew her through her eyes. Tyson managed to escape thanks to the loyalty and trust he bred into his soldiers as their commander.   He began to train his unit in what he learned about their prey, the dragons, in his time studying them. Their weaknesses, their faults, but most importantly their strengths and abilities. He trained them in the art of dragon hunting and set a true rebellion in motion. Tyson himself slew 6 more dragons in the last two years of his life before he fell in combat against the red dragon Gorgamath, his 6th and final kill.

Employment

Tyson grew up as a hunter-trader like his parents. Hunting fairly dangerous creatures like the guarja for their luscious and warm pelts. However after the death of his parents and the new law against hunting in the woods he grew up in, Tyson became just a wagon driver. Employed by a collection of towns, he moved goods and resources between them for fairly low wage. After coming out of his drunken depression he joined the Scaleless Soldiers as a footman. Over his 5 years of service he climbed the ranks until gained the rank of commander and controlled his own regiment. He was one of the few humans who gained such a rank within that army.

Accomplishments & Achievements

As a child Tyson was taught to respect the power of others by his parents. It was meant to teach him to not waste his life on foolish displays of anger against dangerous opponents. However young Tyson took it as submitting to those with great power.   Much later in life, after he had lost his parents, wife, and children in various ways to Tessith the dragon overlord, Tyson came to truly realize his parents lesson. All thanks to drunken ramblings trying to explain to another man his troubles and frustrations.   Tyson managed to slay Tessith and 6 other dragons thanks to 5 years of military servitude to Tessith. All in order to learn her and other dragon's weaknesses. During this time he trained other dragonslayers and started a genuine rebellion against the dragons.
