Episode 5: Shadows & Memories

Episode 5 starts about a week after the events of Episode 4: The Zenth.
Episode 5 opens with the Commander and Irune on a strange planet

crashed in a jungle. They are both lying outside the craft, Irune has an injury to her head and the Commander is motionless, both are unconscious

The Commander wakes from a vision (which vision the Commander sees is dependent on their family choices in Episode 2: The Hegemony . The Commander will see with a biological sibling, or a woman surrounded by other children.)
As the Commander wakes with a start they find themselves in a cargo bay of a crashed ship, a strange figure watching over them. The figure walks over and talked in a strange language, before finally trying Tremlin, one of the languages the Commander's implant can understand.
The person introduces themselves as Arkol, and explains he came across the pair and moved them to safety and began to try and take care of them. Irune is lying in a water bath not too far from the Commander.
Arkol asks why the two are out alone in such a small craft, the Commander responds that they are on the way to a tournament, an Aloshan festival where they were meant to fight for the honor of the ISS Inanna.
The Commander again has a vision, showing more of their family (Either parents and siblings, or a foster family.) The vision ends with a strange scene.

At the end of either vision Ziya appears next to a campfire.

The Commander wakes and Arkol asks what the Commander knows of a particular Hegemony officer.

Ziya. He tells the Commander of Ziya's early activity in the Hegemony, how she was a force pushing to undermine them, until her one slip up got her caught.

After the Commander explains that he was supposed to train for this tournament they tell Arkol who they sparred with, (the player can go through 3 of the 4 options Kani, Rin, Michael, or Cea.)
Arkol leaves to grab a transmitter from the shuttle and Irune talks to the Commander, before another vision strikes. This time It's like someone is trying to communicate with him

Ziya, trying to tell them something, which is cut off when they come too again.

Arkol comes back and the three of them decide to induce a vision using some hallucinogenic herbs. The Commander has a vision of home (either family related or foster family related) before the figure in their vision makes a very strong case for being a double agent in the Hegemony

Ziya is able to talk to the Commander. She's stuck here, and there's no way to pull her out. But she can help the Commander. She wants to end the war, and is no true fan of the Hegemony, but she has a proposition. Go double agent on the Hegemony and undermine them from the inside, or don't, she will help wither way.

The Commander wakes again, having resigned to the figures pleas, one way or the other.

Ziya's plea one way or the other.

Akrol talks of his people in circuitous ways before leaving the Commander and Irune before they are picked up by the Inanna.
The Commander and Irune are recovering in the medbay, Irune telling about her mother and grandmother, before Oluna comes in to tell the Commander they have to pick a surrogate in the tournament.
Surrogate picked, Captain Zal comes in, questioning the Commander's mental state but also willing to go along with their plan. It is up to the Commander though, given they are the conduit to the intel stored in their visions.
The Commander makes their choice, one that will have drastic consequences. There is one more loose thread though, do these visions know where Anaya is being held?
