The near terrain scouted and no easy terrain around the quarry to start another expedition the squad decides to try circumnavigation once again, but this time over the poles instead around the equator. this path will allow them to utilize the Verdant Ageis territory infrastructure to get out farther with lower risk.

The fungal area to the north starts to spread into the quarry region, spores carried by the ground crew start to germinate and spread. The squad is already on the path when they are informed about this development.

Territory 2 - The USCMC dispatches botanists and biohazard control specialists. The quarry is safe for now. But if more fungal regions are discovered direct exploration may be unwise. also the route will require a detour now that the fungal areas are to be avoided. hopefully it doesn't stretch farther north than already explored.

The Verdant Ageis people know the fungal growth well and offer up many local remedies and suggestions to the squad as they pass and talk with locals. however understanding which are effective and which are traditional is tricky.

Nature 7 - Patli radios back the various findings in hope they assist the base crew handle the fungal growth.

Territory 5.5 - the Quarry base crew latch onto a quick win from the knowledge shared but fail to understand the growth being dispersed so quickly leaves spores that need dealt with too. Failing to apply the full remedy of the locals the growth overtakes the quarry. killing of all of the biological resources and leaving it as a dead stone quarry only. far less valuable to the USCMC.

Influence 5 - The Verdant Ageis demands technological support from the USCMC to stop the flow of the fungal growth into their own territory. Given their local resources are classical, the extra time on the local pixel printer to develop the tools and machines they need is heavy, but Tatu moves around some resources and makes it happen. Though losing control even further on this planet just adds to their long standing embarrassment.

A large Wasp Hive-like structure is attached to a cliff in this region. It's large enough to walk around in and get lost and it's inhabited by a number of flying insects larger than a person. They don't seem overly hostile but that doesn't make them safe...

Another hive is here filled with worker drones hammering away at the structure and maintaining it efficiently... yes hammering... with stone tools working calcified mushroom flesh into intricate structures.

Stealth 3 - Kuro scouts for a way around the structure and patrols but they are being herded and end up bringing the squad and the ground crew through a 'hidden passage' through some ravines and the entire squad is captured in a landslide. they wake up wrapped in paper like bindings dried against the walls of the hive.
