02 Jungle Democracy
Set the Scene
The Verge Survey Squad is out of air support for the moment since the supply ship sank far out in the field. So did the time being they are going to switch from circumnavigation to filling out the charts around the quarry outpost itself so if anything comes up, they don't have to make a month long haul back... again.

The Verdant Ageis. A Democratic classical era faction of great power hidden away in the mountains. literally and figuratively above the conflict of the tribes below.
Diplomacy 19 - Adanna makes first contact and establishes themselves as diplomats. The Verdant Ageis is fully aware of the presence of the USCMC and has no quarrel with them.
Diplomacy 19 - Adanna establishes their mission to chart the planet and barters a deal. They will share their charts once completed if the Verdant Ageis provides their local maps now.
They share their maps and it looks like they have the southern part of this mountain range as well as the marshes to the south. With basic roads and infrastructure in place and the close proximity to the Quarry travel through these areas will now be quite simple. as long as the diplomatic agreements hold at least.

More marshes... lovely. They are being followed by a large beetle as well that seems to have an obsession with them but keeps its distance.
Animal Handling 11 - The group lets the large beetle follow them without scaring it away or chasing it off. it's not exactly an ally but it is handy to have around as a chaperone.

Survival 16 - the extra supplies are well appreciated. though the area that needs charted that is anywhere near the quarry is quickly running out and the option won't be viable much longer. after a year without air supply the squad is becoming more self sufficient but the fungal terrain is not something they were prepared for and may not be able to handle once they are more than a week out from camp.
