Maximillian Malligig Character in Star Wars: Shards | World Anvil

Maximillian Malligig

Twi'lek warrior turned Free trader merchant

"Maximillian Malligig" character created by Garry Spiegle, published by TSR
First campaign appearance: Shards of Honor 6.0 "Sundown on Starmist"

VNY's notes:

Discovered a previously unknown sentient race on Starmist in the Sundown System. They worship something metallic in their village center, Max says, but "strange doings have lately been afoot!" - inspiring Max to contact the Jedi Order.
Master Anakin Skywalker knows just the Padawan to send over there to investigate the problem.
(Me. He means me.)
A few of the other Padawans have got a theory that this is to get me out from underfoot for our first ever Tapani Day in the Tapani Sector. They are woefully incorrect. Bossman is not going to get weird about a word on a calendar.
Zan and Jayna say their Ma is not much into family holidays because they are usually also political event clusters, but Da is pleasantly amused by sappy family stuff, so if their Da is telling me to go "sort it out" there has to be some political aftermath from the Sybay thing which Da is trying to sneak me away from. That is an absolute travesty of a run-on sentence put together by a pair of twenty-year-old twins. It's also completely off the mark.
The truth is, I'm going because (1) I am six years older than the oldest Padawans. (2) I do not require a chaperone in case of bureaucratic issues which require adulthood in the local legal system. (3) I am an experienced investigator who knows enough to back off and report to my client or supervisor if things get hinky. (4) This already sounds hinky enough that the Jedi Order cannot pass it by, but not so hinky that it's worth risking one of the few remaining Knights.
So I'll talk to Max a little more en route. I'll see if I can get the locals chatting. I'll listen to everything everyone has to say, maybe look at a few things, maybe snap a few images, and then back off to write a report.
Max seems like an okay guy. A little nervous. He's lying about something -- all clients cover something up, or edit the truth somehow, I'm used to that -- but I tentatively class that as "nervous bluster because supernatural stuff" more than "secretly planning to turn me in for the bounty".
