Black Sun

The Black Sun is a powerful, yet relatively new, crime syndicate founded on Ord Mnatell. Even though it has nowhere near the power of the The Exchange or the Hutt Cartel it has started to gain momentum.
Despite being less than a decade old, the Black Sun has already begun to plant the seeds of what they hope will one day become a galaxy-spanning criminal empire. The Black Suns have have already seized significant territory, most of which is in the Herglic’s Folly district. They are currently in a very active gang war with the Ripper Gang.
Public opinion about the Black Sun is mixed. The most law abiding citizens are upset about (yet another) gang rising to power, but Mantellians consider the Black Sun to be the lesser of many evils. Other gangs are demonstrably evil, but the Black Sun have not crossed any moral red lines.

Structure

All power in the Black Sun flows up to the triumvirate of the Jornath brothers. They each have a skillset that they leverage for the good of the group. Below the central power structure there is a quick transformation to disparate cell groups. Each cell is tasked with independent tasks to further the whole. When cells work together they are often merged in order to lessen the risk to members.
There are also persistent, more public, groups that run ongoing plays for the gang such as casnios, loan sharks, and laundering schemes. The leadership has significant experience that are ready to leverage. Power flows to the top, but the amount of power controlled by the gang leaves much room for members to make a name and take a slice of profit.

Public Agenda

Being a relatively new criminal syndicate, the Black Sun’s power does not run as far and as deep as they would like. The Black Sun’s main goal is to consolidate their power on Ord Mantell and begin gathering contacts and allies in other regions of the galaxy. Those assets will be useful to expand their footprint in the galaxy.
Locally, they are focused on removing and his Ripper Gang from Herglic’s Folly , and then wiping the Rippers from the planet all together.
