Action: Research (crew member with loyalty 10+ and Investigation proficiency, or character with Investigation proficiency)

An Archive is a repository of valuable books, maps, and scrolls. It may be hidden aboard the vessel behind a locked or secret door.

Proficiency

When you perform a Research action on the facility, If you are not proficient with Investigation make a wisdom check against DC 15; if successful you gain proficiency with Investigation.

Install Options

When you use the Install Facility action to install an Archive, you may install it incorporating an existing Library and/or Scriptorium aboard the vessel. Each facility incorporated in this manner reduces the base cost of the Archive by 10%, and is then removed from the vessel.

Library and Scriptorium Station

The Archive contains a mix of Library and Scriptorium facilities. During a Vessel Facility Turn one player may use this basic station as a Library or a Scriptorium without preventing any other player from making an action with the Archive.

Reference Books

Your Archive contains copies of rare and valuable reference books or encyclopaedias, which give you a benefit while you and the book are aboard your vessel. You can choose any one of the following options for free, and may purchase additional options at 2,000 gp at any location that sells very rare items:
The Encyclopaedia Arcana, foreward by Giles Hensbane. Characters have Advantage on any Intelligence (Arcana) check they make when they take the Study action to recall lore about spells, magic items, eldritch symbols, magical traditions, and planes of existence.
An Abridged History of the Known Spheres and the Great Shattering, by Adjunct Professor Garistold Pavheydea Hyperion XVI, Esq. Characters have Advantage on any Intelligence (History) check they make when they take the Study action to recall lore about historical events, legendary people, ancient kingdoms, past disputes, wars, and lost civilizations.
The Encyclopaedia Schematica of Adler and Mechanica of Lovelace, forward by Seeker Thorn. Characters have Advantage on any Intelligence (Investigation) check they make when they take the Study action to make deductions based on clues or evidence or to recall lore about traps, ciphers, riddles, and gadgetry.
Marks of The Untamed, by Amber Enerithan. Characters have Advantage on any Intelligence (Nature) check they make when they take the Study action to recall lore about terrain, plants, animals, and the weather.
The Seeker Encyclopaedia of Deities, Demigods, and Ascendant Powers of the Known Multiverse. Characters have Advantage on any Intelligence (Religion) check they make when they take the Study action to recall lore about deities, rites and prayers, hierarchies, holy symbols, and the practices of secret cults.

Research Options

When you use Research Action with this facility, you perform the Research: Helpful Lore action.
Research: Helpful Lore. The Archive provides helpful lore. You gain knowledge as if you had cast the Legend Lore spell.
