WHiV Session 9: Memorial Day Mayhem
General Summary
May 27 - 28, 1996
The coterie awoke on Memorial Day weekend to find the city in turmoil, bands of Sabbat ghouls and shovelheads prowling up and down the Strip causing chaos. Patrick checked with Nadiya at the Vegas World Casino, helping to push back the waves of Sabbat trying to take over the city's Elysium. Meanwhile Anthony got a call from his ghoul Joshua, some more Sabbat had pinned him down in a university library.
Walking from one of the Strip to the other would have taken hours with the chaos outside, so Norbert quickly stole the car keys (and part of a hip bone) off a cop to drive the police car down to the university. The coterie got the jump on a pack of Sabbat, gunning them down and delivering final deaths with heavy books and broken pieces of furniture. Patrick interrogated the leader, learning that they were searching for any records about trains and time-tables from a century ago.
Norbert led the group down into the sewers to escape the cops one last time, Joshua and Julia in tow. Joshua excitedly asked the other vampires about how they got embraced, hanging out in Norbert's hideout to play video games while Anthony helped a shellshocked Julia find a place to stay at his haunted haven.
Next evening the coterie met with Nadiya to get a double dose of bad news. It turns out the Sabbat were researching train time-tables to hunt down a Methuselah that went missing in the mountains of western United States a century ago. The coterie decided to undertake the mission to interrupt the Sabbat ritual, Nadiya promising support and resources from the neighboring princedoms to deal with the packs of werewolves they'd encounter along the way.
As for the second piece of bad news, Jeanette Voerman had been apprehended by members of the FBI's Unusual Incidents Unit during all the Sabbat chaos from the night before. Nadiya feared about the kind of masquerade-breaching information Jeanette would share with the agents, so the coterie would have to put some pressue on their FBI contacts to interrupt the intterogation. So much for a long weekend.
