WHiV Session 20: Payday
General Summary
Aug. 29, 1996
Licking their wounds, the coterie prepared for a new assault on the Luxor Pyramid to reclaim the chantry for Carna. With eight Ministry agents, half a dozen of Carna's acolytes, and enough firepower to fill three high-security vans, the coterie was ready for all-out war. They quickly drove down the Strip towards the Luxor, triggering the fire alarm to have all the humans leave and prevent any masquerade breaches during the fight.
Marching up the numerous floors of the Pyramid, the coterie finally reached the suites controlled by clan Tremere. Several powerful wards guarded the doors into each of the suites, but the wards didn't cover all the surrounding walls and the coterie managed to crash through them like the Kool-Aid Man. Anthony transformed into his Zilo form to fend off a giant gargoyle, meanwhile Patrick and Norbert grappled Meerlinda and stake her and send the methuseleh into torpor. The remaining Tremere put up a vicious fight and managed to kill one of the Ministry agents, but outnumbered on all sides they quickly fell to the coterie's onslaught. Diablerie was discussed, but being in mixed company Patrick agreed to perform a simple final death on Meerlinda rather than try consuming the Tremere's vitae.
Carna happily claimed her role as leader of the Luxor Pyramid chantry, closing the book on a summer of violence and unrest in Las Vegas as the Trinity cemented their hold on power. The coterie continued their work, passing bylaws to ensure both Anarch and Camarilla alike felt safe within the city. With the Sabbat defeated and the Tremere cowed, it felt like a much-needed relief to deal with territorial disputes and minor masquerade breaches. The Trinity also kept an eye on human affaris, saving Tupac Shakur from a drive-by shooting in Vegas. Clan Giovanni would go on to host the family reunion at the Vegas World Casino and establish Clan Hecata later that year, and for years to come the Trinity's Dream of Vegas would be a haven where vampires of all stripes could safely do business.
