Elves

Elves are one of the most prominent species in the world. They are the species with the most natural mages and have a special bond to magic, which most of them even can syphon from their surroundings to fuel their spells. Elves emerged tens of thousands of years ago from humans who have settled in the northern parts of Somelion, where the aetherial rivers are more prominent and strong.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves typically are tall and slender. Their bodies are infused with magic, enhancing their strength without the need of distinct musculature. They have longer faces than humans and pointy ears. Their hair colors vary from white over blonde and red to light brown, and their eyes are typically colored a shade of blue or green.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elves can procreate with all other species on Somelion. An elven pregnancy typically lasts around nine months.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves take around twenty years to fully develop. Between the age of twelve to fifteen, they typically enter puberty, which lasts around five to seven years, after which they enter adulthood. The magic coursing through their bodies keep elves from aging substantially until they reach the age of eighty. At this point their hair color starts to fade, often becoming grey or white. Their eyes also begin to lose their color at this point.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their magically strengthened bodies enhance most of the elves senses. They have exceptional eyesight and hearing and can see the aetherial structure of their surroundings, allowing them to easily navigate in the dark.
